Our Story
Wellness Care Center was founded with a clear purpose to make high-quality, patient-centered healthcare accessible to everyone, especially those who have traditionally been underserved.
Dr. P. Tareyl Barton brings over 30 years of experience in medicine, with a unique dual background as both a physician and pharmacist. Raised in Peach County, Georgia, she earned her Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy. She completed advanced training in Family Medicine and OB/GYN, along with a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr. Barton has been known for her clinical expertise, research in inflammatory markers and interleukins, and most importantly, her compassionate, patient-first approach to care.
Her decision to build a telehealth-based practice was deeply intentional. Dr. Barton recognized that many individuals especially those in rural communities or without insurance face significant barriers to accessing quality healthcare. She is passionate about removing those barriers and believes that access to care should never be limited by location, income, or circumstance.
Wellness Care Center reflects that commitment. By combining convenient telehealth visits with coordinated access to labs, imaging, and specialist referrals, Dr. Barton and her team provide comprehensive, personalized care designed around the needs of each patient.
At its core, Wellness Care Center is about more than medicine it’s about ensuring that every patient feels seen, supported, and empowered to take control of their health.
